Mr. Ziegler is President and Chief Executive Officer of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local No. 832, which is the largest private sector union in Manitoba representing 15,000 members, and is a Vice-President of the UFCW Canadian Council. 

He is chairperson of the Manitoba Pension Commission as well as Secretary-Treasurer of the Manitoba Federation of Labour.  Mr. Ziegler is Co-Chair of the Premier’s Economic Advisory Council.  He is a member of the Labour Management Review Committee which advises the province on labour relations issues.  He has served on the cabinet of Winnipeg’s United Way as the Labour Chair.

In addition to his role as president of the Local Union he chairs the UFCW Education and Training Trust Fund and sits on numerous health & benefit trusts.

Mr. Ziegler is a graduate of the University of Manitoba where he obtained his Bachelor of Science and Teacher’s Certificate.
