
Together with his father, Tom co-founded Payne Transportation in June of 2000. Payne Transportation is located in a newly constructed, 45,000 sq ft, modern facility situated in Rosser, Manitoba and employs over 100 employees and 150 owner-operators.
Under Tom's leadership, Payne Transportation has grown to include terminals in Edmonton, Montreal and Houston, Texas. Its fleet includes over 180 trucks, 300 trailers and is widely respected as one of Canada’s most progressive transport companies. Payne Transportation’s customer base includes notable companies such as Standard Aero Ltd., Kitchen Craft Cabinets, Pollard Banknote Income Fund, Progress Rail, John Deere & Company and Caterpillar, among others.
Payne consists of Dry Van, Flat Deck & Temperature Control Divisions along with Distribution, Logistics and an Expedited L.T.L. Division.
Payne Tansportation offers customs clearance and is a fully bonded carrier. Payne is Fast, CSA, CT-PAT, PIP approved and is a SmartWay certified partner in the United States. Payne Transportation is a young, aggressive company centered on innovation and determination.
Along with managing the day-to-day operations of Payne Transportation, Tom is currently on the Board of Directors and holds a position on the Executive Advisory Committee of the Manitoba Trucking Association. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Trucking Alliance. Tom previously held the position of Business Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Industrial Career Development Institute.
Tom was appointed to the first Board of Directors for CentrePort Canada in December of 2008 and is the representative for the Rural Municipality of Rosser.
