News Release: New Fully Serviced Industrial Park Ready For Investment in CentrePort

Shovel-ready, fully serviced land is soon to be available at Brookside Industrial Park (“the Park”), located at CentrePort Canada (“CentrePort”).

Water and wastewater servicing will be in place by summer 2018 in the 100-acre development being brought to market by Crystal Developers Ltd. (“Crystal Developers”) and brokered by Cushman and Wakefield Winnipeg. The Park is located in CentrePort North in the Rural Municipality of Rosser, with frontage onto CentrePort Canada Way (see attached map). It is just west of Route 90.

The land within this park is zoned I2 for general industrial uses including manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, logistics and transportation-related businesses. Companies that locate within the Park can take advantage of the Special Planning Area which streamlines the land-development approval process, allowing businesses to have cost and planning certainty, transparency and speed to market.

“The availability of shovel-ready, fully serviced land at CentrePort will result in new investment, jobs and opportunities in Manitoba,” said Diane Gray, president and CEO, CentrePort Canada. “The Park will be a major draw for companies in key sectors like advanced manufacturing, agribusiness and transportation and logistics. We look forward to working closely with Cushman & Wakefield Winnipeg and government partners to attract businesses to locate on this site.”

“Crystal Developers Ltd. is excited to continue with the high-quality Brookside development project in CentrePort – adding another 100 acres into the portfolio, which brings Brookside Industrial Park to a total of 250 acres of industrial land,” said Heidi Spletzer, vice-president of Crystal Developers. “The area presents a promising future for the attraction of a new cluster of manufacturing companies in a strong leasing and owner-occupied market.”

“There has been a lack of industrial zoned, shovel-ready and serviced land in the Winnipeg marketplace, so this land becoming available at Brookside Industrial Park will provide much needed inventory,” said Stephen Sherlock, associate vice president, Cushman & Wakefield Winnipeg. “With all of the pent up demand, we anticipate this land will sell quickly.”

“Council is pleased to be working again with Crystal Developers on the new Brookside Industrial Park,” said R.M. of Rosser deputy reeve Lee Garfinkel. “Council has had a very positive working relationship with Crystal Developers on past development in CentrePort. We are excited to have fully serviced land available in the R.M. of Rosser and would like to congratulate the developers on bringing this Park to market readiness.”

CentrePort Canada is Manitoba’s 20,000-acre inland port and Foreign Trade Zone. Located in the heart of North America, CentrePort connects to major national and international trade gateways and corridors, and is the only inland port in Canada with direct access to tri-modal transportation – truck, rail and air cargo. Since 2009, CentrePort has welcomed 51 new businesses on approximately 300 acres, representing more than $300 million in new capital investment.
